Silly face dragon

Kara has been telling us that Santa was going to bring her a silly face dragon for Christmas, well we had no clue what it was. My fear was the huge ride on $200plus dinosaurs that they have at target and costco. So I begun paying attention to commercials during her favorite shows in hopes of finding the "silly face dragon". Well as I am all finished shopping for Christmas (and finished wrapping too), I find out tonight that the silly face dragon is just hungry hungry hippos. So I guess I will be out and about tomorrow looking for that game. Hopefully someone has it!

Go Black Go!

I just got done watching the biggest loser season finale and I am so stoked that Michelle won! I wanted her to win, and Ed to win if she didn't, I was so glad when Vicky-icky was one pound away from beating Ed! Ha! I was glad to see that Heba won the at home prize, although Amy or Amy would have been a better choice. I was shocked when Ed was the third finalist not Heba, but then again I wondered if people would vote for him because he asked them not to.
The preview for the next one looked very interesting, having the the biggest contestant ever and being only 19 years old. I hope that he can stay on he ranch for a while to get into good shape.
Anyway, Tim and the kids and I went down to the downtown Christmas lights and saw Santa and rode the train tonight. We then stopped for pizza at the little pizza shop and it was delicious. The train ride was quite cold though even with warm jackets on.

Jenni's 4th file challenge

This is the 4th picture in my 4th file. Me holding Emma June when she was just a few hours old. Taken on November 11th 2003. This is the morning picture not the one from the middle of the night when she was just born (that was 4th file #3) Emma June is the daughter of my lifelong best friend Arwen. And in case you didn't know my middle name is June too, coincidence I think not!:)

Competitive Kara!

So Kara ran in her own turkey trot the other day. They had all the kids 0-4 run together. Tim went to the finish line while I stayed at the start. As the kids started running Kara ran, and she cried. Why? Because she wasn't the fastest I guess. At the time we thought it was because she was scared because she couldn't see us and she had never been in a race before. In the aftermath we realized it was because she was not the fastest. I have had this conversation many times with her since.
Me- Kara you did a really good job in that race!
Kara- I'm sorry guys I am just to slow. All the other kids were faster.
M- Kara you did good you finished the race.
K - All the other kids were so fast they got to the finished the race first.
M- Kara is doesn't matter that you didn't finish first, just that you did it. I didn't finish first in my race either.
K- Mommy, all the other mommies were faster than you too, you were too slow too. (thanks Kara!)

This just goes on and on as I try to convince her that she did good. Today we got our Keva juice that she got for participating in the race and she did seam to think that it would make her faster. We will be working on our running now.
I guess she's got that competitive bug!

Mission Completion!

1 hour 6 min 44 sec! That was my time! Yay!
First Kara did the desielhorst dash.Although she ran it, she cried the whole way. Then it was time for my run. Such a good time! The first mile flew by. The second, seamed so long. I got through the third with the promise of water on the other side:) Made it through the forth, then just into the fifth I passed someone I knew and then made it to the end! Decent time. I wanted under an hour but that will just have to be my goal for next year. This was a goal accomplished! Here's some photos.

Introducing Scary!

This little guy is scary. One of Kara's favorite toys. He came home from Emma's halloween birthday party and hardly a day has gone by since where Scary hasn't been talked about or too. He has even been in time out for hitting a barbie.

Wednesday writings

I can't decide who I want to win dancing with the stars. Brook Burke who has been the top the whole time until this week where she slipped, or Lance Bass who did such a great job this week to make me glad that I always cheer for the underdog. One thing I know for sure is that Warren Sapp is not going to win!

Thanksgiving is only a week away and I can't wait to stuff myself yum! I will have to workout extra hard for the next week to prepare to eat stuffing and pie all day.

Vicky is my least favorite player on biggest loser. Followed very closely if not evenly by Heba. How can Vicky be mad at Amy C. for "backstabbing her". But what gives her the right to be in charge of the eliminations? Amy has been one that I liked from the beginning along with Colleen. For Amy to win she will have to get every guy off because her starting weight was 239. To lose 50% weight would be the absolute max she could really go. Ed's starting weight was 335 pounds he could lose more like 55-60%. Can I just say we should all dress 80s sometime? Oh yeah and I was just waiting for Richard Simmons to jump out and go crazy.

I am ready for Christmas season, since it always flys by so fast I am ready to start celebrating earlier and longer so that we can enjoy it. We got the lights for the house (but don't have them up yet) And everywhere we go Kara says "Mommy its Christmas!"

I am excited because I know what I am getting Tim for Christmas and I know he is going to love it! YAY!

Yet another Kara story.....

We are driving in the car

Kara says "momma we need a doggie door".
I say "Kara what do we need that for?".
K-"well so that when the doggie has to go potty it can go outside and when it wants to come back in it can"
M-"oh-"
K-"and when its raining the doggie can comein"
M-"but kara we don't have a dog"
K-"its ok momma, papa said he would talk to daddy about it"
M-"what, papa?"
K-"yeah papa said that he would tell him its ok I can have a dog"

My Dad is now in trouble.

Kara-ish

Kara has her own way to say just about anything. I am not sure if you can all understand her all the time.....So here are some of my favorites.....

Up-down- this normally means inside out as in "mommy i can't put my panties on cause they are up-down." This also can mean that she wants you to pick her up and put her upside down.

Slow- this is normally used to describe the volume of the TV. "Mommy the TV is to slow I can't hear it" known to most of us as to low or quiet.

Big-little or little big - not used interchangeably. This is normally used to describe her self compared to others. "mommy, I am big little like Jason" or "Mommy I am little big like you" See the difference

Hiding- this is when we are looking for something and we find it. "Mommy, there is my juice hiding by the milk"

The wrong button- This is when Jason turns the channel while she is watching TV. "Mommy, Jason pushed the wrong button in mommy's room"

I want to pick one- This is where she exerts her right to make choices. Almost every time I know which baby, cereal or piece of candy she will choose but every time its "Mommy I want to pick on, please" This is followed by her looking back and forth between the two with her finger at her mouth looking like the decision is paining her.

Mickey come inside- This is just her way of saying Mickey Mouse. Due to the cartoon Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. "Mommy, I want to watch Mickey come inside" Ask Jenn she was confusing her one time cause Jenn was like Mickey was already in side...

It's OK, Daddy will fix it later- This is for anything broken especially things that we want to leave for the moment. "oops we dropped daddy's PS3 controller, Mommy its OK, daddy will fix it later"

I have a great idea - which has already been discused in a previous post along with Somewhere fun (anywhere where she can play with other kids) "mommy I have a great idea, you take a shower, I watch cartoons Jason take a nap and then we can go somewhere fun, like the silly face bouncy house!"(AKA nor cal elite gym)

Leslie say no?- Leslie is the daycare lady at our gym so sometimes Kara wants to bring things to the daycare that I don't think that she should, (like her baseball bat)I hear "Mommy, Leslie says no?" my answer... always yes (poor Leslie she gets the bad rap)

The big show- the movies. wheneer we drive by movies 10 I hear "Mommy, I want daddy to take me to the big show again and see Horton and have popcorn and soda"

These are just the ones on the top of my head, never a dull moment with Kara...

Halloween!

Well due to rain in the forcast Tim and I decided it was best to start trick or treating early while the rain was on hiatitus. So right after nap at about 3 we started getting the kids ready PhotobucketPhotobucket and went out to begin visiting Grandparents. First Grandma Haynes' work. Then Granny and Papas where we ran into the Wilburn clan.PhotobucketPhotobucket Then out for trick or treating for a little while.PhotobucketPhotobucket Then to Grandma Ninas apartments then to Grandma Debby and Papa John's. This is how we kept Jason walking between houses.Photobucket Then more trick or treatin then, home to our neighborhood and to Jim and Ada's and other houses then Kara even managed to score some new teeth at a carnival around the courner. Photobucket
Whew, are you as tired as I am thinking about that?

Fairytale land....

Monday, Jen, Alicia, Anna, Bella, Jack, Jason, Kara and I all made the trip to Sacramento to see Jessica and Wesley and get our yearly kids in Halloween cousins picture. The kids and I made it out of the house just in time for our 8:30 leave time but had a long trip there. Or maybe it just felt long to me. In corning Kara had to go potty. And Jason had been screaming since Anderson so we pulled off at Starbucks. We went in and Kara brought her little toy puppy on a leash. I told her to bring it in the bathroom with us but she said she wanted to tie it up outside the door. No I said bring it in, so she says, "oh momma that girl is going to take my puppy if i leave it here?" (that girl is a 40 year old woman who didn't look to be a toy puppy stealer). At the same stop I discover the reason Jason has been screaming was that his sippy cup leaked all over him and he was soaked. So I had only brought him his costume as a change of clothes and I had an extra pair of pants that had come with the shirt and I went to put them on, and they were a 3t (the shirt was 24m) So now he has no shirt, and pants that are about 8 inches to long. So we finally made it to Jessica's and then we all headed out to Fairytale land. First we picnicked in the park where Bella gave us a fun surprise. Then it was costume time! PhotobucketKara was Ariel, Jason Batman, Bella a cupcake, Jack a skeletonPhotobucket, Anna Strawberry shortcakePhotobucket and Wesley a bee.Photobucket Kara also got her hair painted red. I got to send a thank you out to Jen for helping fix Kara's costume where it had a hole in it. And to Tessa who had a great idea that we could cover the hole with a seashell and stick it on with bubble gum. Brilliant! We wondered around fairytale town and took pictures of the kids playing and attempted to get them all in one,Photobucket not soo easy with a group of 4-one yearolds, a two year old and a three year old. The benefits of a 3 year old, and pumpkin patch pictures...

They can put on their own shoes,Photobucket
yet they may not match.
They love to see new things,Photobucket
yet may chase the turkey into the corner and trap it (Leslie, I am with you I was freaked out!)
They want to ride the train,Photobucket
and convince everyone to get on. Who knew a 3 year old could fill up the train and get it going.Photobucket
And they just look like angels...Photobucket
but sometimes may not act like them....no picture available....(Ask me sometime to see the video though)
They love the good things in life like pumpkins Photobucket
and don't realize that they didn't grow there when the tractor is putting them out(they must have run out)Photobucket

And of course the Jason pics....

Creativity needed....

I have been working on the kids bathroom for a while (ok not activly working but whatever) So I have about half of the wall paper pulled off but it is a pain to get the upper boarder. But my motivation has been lacking. I think that it is because I don't have a theme of what i want to do. I have thought about a sea theme with sandcastles and shells and gray blue paint. Then there is my monkey idea, which involves palm trees and bright paint. But I am not wild about either one. It has to be unisex (otherwise it would be princesses if Kara had her way) Something that will look nice and still kid friendly. Currently it has blue and tan linolium, but that can be changed. It will require a shower curtin so that has to be part of the idea and the sink and mirrors are light wood. So help me with ideas!
